A workshop for JUPÁ educators
On September 9, 2026, the Cybersecurity Reach Foundation delivered a workshop for educators at Fundación JUPÁ in Panama. The session was a great success and connected practical scam awareness with opportunities for students to learn about cybersecurity.
What we covered
The workshop covered what scams are, the techniques scammers use to trick and pressure people, and the different types and forms scams can take.
We also discussed:
- cybersecurity career opportunities for students and pathways into the field;
- how stolen credentials are obtained and used;
- the ransomware industry; and
- why phishing is no longer the most successful initial attack vector as attackers increasingly use artificial intelligence and other methods.
The session gave educators a way to connect digital-safety lessons with both current security risks and future career possibilities for students.
