WatchOut Launches as a Shareable Scam-Alert Service

WatchOut launched in August 2026 as a free alert feed that helps people see scams going around and share practical warnings with others.

See the scams going around before they reach you

WatchOut launched on August 21, 2026 as a free, shareable scam-alert service from the Cybersecurity Reach Foundation.

WatchOut turns reviewed scam warnings into short alerts that people can read and share. The service is designed for ordinary readers and for the organizations that help their communities, including libraries, nonprofits, universities, and community groups.

Visit WatchOut to see current warnings.

What WatchOut does

WatchOut focuses on the question people often ask after seeing a suspicious message or offer: “Is this happening to other people too?” Each warning explains the situation in plain language, identifies recognizable warning signs, and gives a safer next step.

The alerts can be shared through messaging, email, and social platforms. Organizations can choose the warnings that fit their audiences and redistribute them through channels they already use.

WatchOut works alongside CSRF's other public services. ScamArchive documents scam families and variations, while WatchOut makes timely warnings easier to find and pass on.

A practical public service

A warning is useful when it reaches someone before they click, pay, reply, or share a code. WatchOut is built to make that warning easy to send to the people a reader looks out for.
