What the poster says, as text

Never share a code.

If a code arrives by text and someone asks you to read it out, that person is a scammer.

This is true even when

  • They say they are from your bank
  • They say they are the police or the government
  • They already know your name and address
  • They say your money is in danger right now

Hang up. Then call the company back on the number on your card, your statement, or their app.

Fill these in and they appear on the poster straight away — and on everything else you use here. Leave them blank and the poster prints with an empty box to write in.

Your logo stays on your own computer. It is not sent to us or to anyone else.

Why this one rule matters

A one-time code is the last lock on an account. A scammer who has your password still cannot get in without the code, which is why they call and ask for it.

Nobody legitimate ever needs it. Your bank does not need it. The police do not need it. Company support does not need it.

Notes for whoever prints this

  • Fill in your organization's name and phone number before you put it up.
  • This one works well in large print beside a telephone.

Before you distribute this

  • Use it: Senior centers, waiting rooms, community rooms, and anywhere near a phone.
  • Replace every bracketed placeholder with your organization's own details.
  • Open every web address yourself before printing it.
