What the poster says, as text

Scammers want you to hurry.

Nothing real falls apart because you took ten minutes to check.

Stop before you

  • Tap a link
  • Call a number in a message
  • Send a payment
  • Share a code or a password

Ask our staff where to find free help checking a message. It costs nothing and takes a minute.

Your organization

Fill these in and they appear on the poster straight away — and on everything else you use here. Leave them blank and the poster prints with an empty box to write in.

Your logo stays on your own computer. It is not sent to us or to anyone else.

A large picture file you can print, email to a print shop, or put on a screen.

What we are and are not asking staff to do

Staff do not have to decide whether a message is a scam. Nobody can do that reliably from a screenshot, and it is not a fair thing to ask of anyone at a front desk.

The job is smaller: be a calm person who says slow down, and point at the free help. That is the whole ask.

Notes for whoever prints this

  • Add your branch name and opening hours.
  • Large print works well here. Many of the people who need it most read it at a distance.

Before you distribute this

  • Use it: Branch entrances, notice boards, and computer areas.
  • Replace every bracketed placeholder with your organization's own details.
  • Open every web address yourself before printing it.
  • Current warnings live at watchout.report. Check the date on anything time-sensitive.
Use your browser's print dialog to save this as a PDF.
