The pattern this stops
Someone writes in, sounding like a supplier, a leader, or a colleague, and says the bank details have changed. The message often arrives near the end of the week, and it usually asks you to keep things moving quickly.
One phone call to a number you already had ends it. That call is never rude and never a waste of anyone's time.
Notes for whoever prints this
- Add the name of the person in your organization who approves payments.
- Two people approving anything unusual is a stronger protection than any poster.
